Groups in Text In Church are the heart of your communication strategy.

1. Create a New Group

  1. Go to the Groups section.

  2. Click Add New.

  3. Give your group a clear name (example: First-Time Guest).

  4. (Optional) Add a description or use cases for clarity.

  5. Click Next Step.

2. Add Steps to Your Group

From here, you can add several powerful tools to your group:

Link a Connect Card

  • Attach a Smart Connect Card so guests can easily provide their info.

Send a Confirmation Text

  • Write a warm welcome message, such as:

“Thank you for filling out this Connect Card! 🎉 We’re so glad you joined us today.”

  • You can also add emojis or any additional info you’d like.

Set Up Staff Notifications

  • Choose to notify your staff when someone fills out the Connect Card.

  • Options include:

    • Email Notification: Sends the full Connect Card details.

    • Staff Message: Sends just the person’s name, phone number, and email.

Activate a Keyword

  • Choose a keyword (like NEW).

  • Assign it to the same phone number you used above.

  • Write an automated reply, for example:

“Thanks for texting NEW! Please take a moment to fill out this form: [link].”

  • Be sure to link the Connect Card to your keyword reply so guests can easily respond.

3. Save Your Work

Once you’ve set everything up, don’t forget to click Save! 💾

And that’s it! 🎉 You’ve now created a group and added steps to gather guest info, send automatic follow-ups, and keep your team in the loop. This is one of the simplest ways to make people feel known, noticed, and loved from their very first interaction with your church. 💙

Have a wonderful day! 🌟
