How to Send a Voice Broadcast

Sometimes a familiar voice says more than a text can. A voice message lets you record something personal and send it straight to people's phones.

Start a new message

As with a text, you can start from anywhere in your account. Click the New Message button at the top, or click Messages and then Create New Message.

You'll see three options. Choose Voice Broadcast at the bottom.

Choose who gets it

Pick Groups, People, or both. When you select a group, you'll see how many people are in it, so you know how many credits the message will use.

Click Next.

Create your audio

You have three ways to build your message:

  • Record it yourself.

  • Upload audio you've already recorded.

  • Type out what you want to say, then choose a voice to read it.

When your audio is ready, click Next.

Send or schedule

Choose the phone number you want to send from. You can include landline numbers in your list of recipients, too.

Then decide whether to Schedule your message for later or Send Now.

How credits work

A voice message uses 1 credit per person for every 60 seconds.

  • A call of 60 seconds or less uses 1 credit per person.

  • Every 60 seconds after that adds 1 more credit.

The time counted is the full call, not only the length of your recording. If someone's voicemail picks up before the message starts, or they replay it, the call can go past 60 seconds. Keep your recording short so there's room for that.

Replies are always free. If someone texts or calls you back, that conversation never counts toward your credits.
