Let’s walk through how to use this tool to level up your church communication.

Step 1: Find the QR Code Builder

From your Text In Church dashboard, look to the left-hand sidebar. Under Tools, you’ll find QR Code Builder—click to open it.

By default, every Connect Card you create will auto-generate a QR code. You’ll see a list of these ready-to-go codes, complete with:

  • The destination URL for each QR code

  • The number of scans it’s received

  • Options to download, edit, or delete any QR code by clicking the three dots beside it

Step 2: Create a New QR Code

To make a new QR code from scratch, click the blue “Add New” button in the top right corner.

Here’s how to customize it:

  1. Name your QR code by clicking the pencil icon—this helps you and your team stay organized.

  2. Customize the look:

    • Add or edit the display text

    • Change the colors (auto-matches your brand, but can be customized!)

    • Upload a logo to appear in the center of your QR code (totally optional, but it makes it look pro)

Step 3: Set the Destination

This is where the QR Code gets powerful. Choose what happens when someone scans it:

  • Go to a URL – Link to your church website, sermon archive, registration form—anything with a web address.

  • Connect Card – Choose from any Connect Cards you’ve created in Text In Church.

  • Video Page – Link to a pre-created video landing page (great for welcome messages or event promos).

  • Contact Card – Instantly share your contact details.

  • Email Action – When scanned, the code opens an email app with your email address, subject line, and message pre-filled.

  • Text Message Action – Pre-fill a text message (e.g., “I want to learn about volunteering”) to send directly to your church number.

💡 This is a great way to let guests instantly text about small groups, prayer needs, or next steps—with one simple scan.
